Summary	RDGB proteins, such as Drosophila rdgB, human RDGB-alpha (NIR2), and human NIR3, constitute a family of phosphatidylinositol transfer proteins. These proteins contain an N-terminal PITP-like domain, an acidic calcium-binding domain, 6 putative transmembrane domains, and a conserved C-terminal domain. In contrast to other rdgB-like proteins, RDGB-beta does not contain transmembrane domains or the conserved C-terminal domain. Sequence analysis of RDGB-beta revealed several potential protein kinase A and protein kinase C phosphorylation sites. The N-terminal domain of RDGB-beta shares 47% and 42% amino acid sequence identity with the N-terminal domains of Drosophila rdgB and human RDGB-alpha, respectively.
