Multi-Species Kit, Assaying the samples from varies of species in one kit

The homology of certain protein in different species is very high, from 95% to 100%. For example, actin beta(ACTb), which is the main component of cytoskeleton microfilament, is widely distributed in various tissues. The protein is expressed by housekeeping gene, and its highly conservative, it shares 100% homology in different mammal species, such as human, rat, mouse, rabbit, pig, bovine, sheep, etc.

Based on the characteristics of this kind of protein, we know when an antibody could identify one protein, then it can recognize and combine with this protein in different species. As for this phenomenon, Cloud-Clone Corp. developes a new type of ELISA detection kit with antibody which recognizes highly homologous protein. Because protein is homologous, the kit can detect the same protein in different samples from different species. But as there is difference in protein level or sample properties of different species, so further experiments are also needed to verify whether one kit can be used in samples from muli-species.

The “Mi” means the kit can detect samples from multiple species. Also, the manual will specify the species which can be detected by the kit including: Hu/Mu/Ra/Bo/Rb/Ga/Gu/Mo/Eq.

In the meanwhile, some other proteins, with high homology but not 100% homology in different species, are still in further research and development. For example, Transforming Growth Factor Beta 1, it shares 100% homology in mouse and rat, but this sequence shares 99% homology in human, pig, bovine, and sheep, and 98% in guinea pig (Picture 1). Moreover, this protein displays the same tertiary structure in different species, shown in picture 2.

The Multi-Species Kits, which are designed for highly homologous (but not 100% homogoly) proteins detection, are still in continuous development.
