Top-Ranked ELISA Kits (Procollagen III N-Terminal Propeptide PIIINP). Vol.8 (2019)
Procollagen III N-Terminal Propeptide (PIIINP) is an amino-terminal peptide produced by cleavage of Aminoterminus peptidase before liver cell to extracellular deposition. During this process, PIIINP and type III collagen present the same molecular mass and enter the blood circulation. Therefore, it can be used as an indicator to detect the synthesis of type III collagen. During the development of cirrhosis, the level of PIIINP(50KD) in serum will increase, and it has a significant positive correlation with the degree of liver fibrosis. Clinical study found that the level of PIIINP is also associated with liver inflammation and cancer to some extent, especially in patients with primary and metastatic liver cancer. Indeed, the patients with chronic hepatitis should be alert to the possibility of liver cancer while the level of PIIINP continues to rise. ELISA and CLIA can be used for detection in clinical application, and the serum reference range is less than 15ng/mL.
