Kinesins are microtubule-based motor proteins involved in the transport of organelles in eukaryotic cells. They The predicted 963-amino acid protein has 63% sequence identity to the Drosophila KHC. Immunoblot analysis using antibodies against squid KHC detected a 120-kD protein in CV-1 monkey kidney epithelial cells.
