Neuroligin 4, Y-Linked (NLGN4Y)
Neuroligins, such as NLGN4Y, are cell adhesion molecules present at the postsynaptic side of the synapse and may be essential for the formation of functional synapses.
The deduced 648-amino acid protein shares 77.5% identity with rat Nlgn2. RT-PCR ELISA detected moderate to high expression of NLGN4Y in nearly all tissues and specific brain regions examined. Highest expression was detected in pancreas, and little to no expression was detected in spleen. NLGN4, including the cysteines, the transmembrane domain, and the PDZ-binding domain. RT-PCR detected similar expression of NLGN4 and NLGN4Y in all male brain regions examined, while only NLGN4 was expressed in female brain regions.

Organism species: Homo sapiens (Human)
