Integrator Complex Subunit 12 (INTS12)
DEAD box proteins, characterized by the conserved motif Asp-Glu-Ala-Asp (DEAD), are putative RNA helicases. INTS12 is a DEAD box protein that is part of a complex that interacts with the C-terminus of RNA polymerase II and is involved in 3' end processing of snRNAs. INTS12 is a subunit of the Integrator complex, which associates with the C-terminal domain of RNA polymerase II large subunit (POLR2A) and mediates 3-prime end processing of small nuclear RNAs U1 (RNU1) and U2 (RNU2) .By SDS-PAGE of proteins that copurified with INTS11 (CPSF3L) in HEK293 cells, Baillat et al. (2005) identified INTS12 as a subunit of the Integrator complex. The International Radiation Hybrid Mapping Consortium mapped the INTS12 gene to chromosome 4 .
