Cancer/Testis Antigen 1A (CTAG1A)
[Edit]LAGE2A; ESO1; CTAG; CTAG1; LAGE2; Autoimmunogenic cancer/testis antigen NY-ESO-1; L antigen family member 2
CTAG1A is an identical copy of the CTAG1B gene. By SEREX (serologic analysis of recombinant cDNA expression libraries) of an esophageal carcinoma cDNA library using autologous patient serum, Chen et al. (1997) identified a clone corresponding to the CTAG (cancer/testis antigen) gene, which they designated NYESO1.
Aradhya et al. (2001) identified CTAG1A, which they called LAGE2A, within a duplicated region of chromosome X associated with incontinentia pigmenti. Sequence analysis showed that the CTAG1A gene is 100% identical to the CTAG1B gene.By sequencing BAC and PAC clones, Aradhya et al. (2001) mapped the CTAG1A gene to chromosome Xq28. It lies in the opposite orientation and centromeric to the CTAG1B gene.
Organism species: Homo sapiens (Human)
