POTE Ankyrin Domain Family, Member B (POTEB)
[Edit]A26B1; POTE15; CT104.5; ANKRD26-Like Family B,Member 1; Cancer/Testis Antigen Family 104,Member 5; Prostate, ovary, testis-expressed protein on chromosome 15
Bera et al. (2002) identified 10 paralogs of the POTE gene, including POTE15. By partially sequencing clones obtained from prostate and testis cDNA libraries, they determined that the POTE15 gene is transcribed.
The POTE15A variant encodes a deduced 581-amino acid protein with a calculated molecular mass of 65.8 kD. POTE15A shares 97% amino acid identity with POTE and contains 3 cysteine-rich N-terminal repeats, 7 central ankyrin repeats, and a C-terminal helical region. The POTE15B variant encodes a deduced 544-amino acid protein with a calculated molecular mass of 61.1 kD. POTE15B lacks the first N-terminal repeat found in POTE15A. In vitro transcription and translation of POTE15A and POTE15B resulted in proteins of about 65 and 62 kD, respectively.
