Taxilin Gamma 2 (TXLNg2)
[Edit]CYorf15A; TXLNGY; Taxilin gamma pseudogene, Y-linked; Gamma-taxilin 2 pseudogene; Chromosome Y Open Reading Frame 15A
Skaletsky et al. (2003) determined that CYORF15A is an X-degenerate gene that is homologous to the 5-prime portion of the X-linked CXORF15 gene; CYORF15B is homologous to the 3-prime portion of CXORF15. X-degenerate genes are remnants of ancient autosomes from which the modern X and Y chromosomes evolved. Skaletsky et al. (2003) stated that the CYORF15A gene is ubiquitously expressed.
Skaletsky et al. (2003) determined that CYORF15A is a single-copy gene that maps to chromosome Yq. It is located in the male-specific region of chromosome Y (MSY), which does not engage in X-Y crossover events.CYORF15A is homologous to the 5-prime portion of CXORF15. X-degenerate genes are remnants of ancient autosomes from which the modern X and Y chromosomes evolved.
