Villa et al. (1992) reported the partial characterization of a novel zinc finger gene of the Kruppel type, which they designated ZNF75, mapping to the long arm of the X chromosome.Villa et al. (1996) identified 3 additional members of the human ZNF75 family: ZNF75A) and 2 pseudogenes, ZNF75B and ZNF75C. They identified homologs in great apes and confirmed that the ZNF75 family is highly conserved through evolution.Villa et al. (1993) isolated a ZNF75 cDNA clone from a lung fibroblast cDNA library.
Villa et al. (1996) identified 3 genes related to ZNF75 (ZNF75D), including ZNF75A. The authors noted that the genes of this family are conserved in the great apes.Using a human-rodent hybrid panel, Villa et al. (1996) mapped the ZNF75A gene to chromosome 16pter-p11.
