Germ Cell Less Homolog 1 Like Proteim (GMCL1L)

[Edit]

GCL; Putative germ cell-less protein-like 1-like

Germ Cell Less Homolog 1 Like Proteim (GMCL1L)
GMCL1L contains 1 BTB (POZ) domain. Possible function in spermatogenesis. Enhances the degradation of MDM2 and increases the amount of p53 probably by modulating the nucleocytoplasmic transport By similarity. Probable substrate-specific adapter of an E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase complex which mediates the ubiquitination and subsequent proteasomal degradation of target proteins.
Gmcl1 is known to be a nuclear lamina protein. Gmcl1 is RIPA-insoluble, so it's likely mgclh will also be RIPA-insoluble. Protein size is expected to be around 55 kDa. The original literature on Gmcl1 said they resuspended the RIPA-insoluble pellet in "SDS-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis sample buffer", but doesn't give the composition.

Organism species: Homo sapiens (Human)
