Olaquindox (OQX)

Olaquindox is a chemically synthesised antibacterial and growth-promoting agents for animals. Olaquindox has an excellent antibacterial effect, is particularly sensitive to gram-negative bacteria, and also has an inhibitory effect on spirochete. Olaquindox, a quinoxaline 1,4-dioxide derivative, is widely used as a feed additive in many countries. Olaquindox has drawn public attention due to its potential mutagenicity, genotoxicity, hepatoxicity and nephrotoxicity.
