E2 glycoprotein, CSFV (E2)
[Edit]E2 is a kind of glycoprotein localized to the virion surface of Swine Fever Virus. E2 can forms homodimers and heterodimers with E1, which is essential for viral entry into cells and also plays a pivotal role in viral tropism. Meanwhile, E2 glycoprotein of Classic Swine Fever Virus are closely associated with virulence and pathogenicity in pigs. As the most important structural protein, E2 interacts with cell surface receptors that determine cell tropism and induces neutralizing antibody and cytotoxic T-lymphocyte responses. For E2 protein, variations in amino acids and antigenic structures, disulfide bond formation, glycosylation, and RNase activity can ultimately affect the virulence of pestiviruses in animals.
