Human Papillomavirus type 58 (HPV58) is a virus belonging to the papillomavirus family and is closely associated with the development of cervical cancer. The probability of cervical cancer caused by HPV58 positivity is approximately between 5% and 10%, categorizing it as a high-risk HPV type. The Human Papillomavirus type 58 L1 protein (HPV58 L1) is a key component in the virus’s structure, serving as the primary capsid protein. HPV58 L1 has the capability to self-assemble into virus-like particles (VLPs), which can trigger an immune response and produce neutralizing antibodies against HPV58. These antibodies aid in preventing infections caused by HPV58, thereby reducing the risk of diseases such as cervical cancer. Vaccines targeting HPV58 L1 antigens are available on the market to prevent infections and related diseases caused by HPV58.
