PC-9 (formerly known as PC-14). PC-14 was initially stored at the RIKEN Bioresource Center in 1989 as a cell line derived from human lung adenocarcinoma (undifferentiated type). The biological resource center found through short tandem repeat DNA analysis that this cell line is identical to PC-9, which is a cell line derived from human lung adenocarcinoma (differentiation type). This misidentification occurred before the cell line was stored in the RIKEN Bioresource Center. The name of the cell line has been changed to PC-9 to reflect this discovery.
