NCI-H1299 Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer Cells (NCI-H1299)

NCI-H1299 is an epithelial-like cell that was isolated from the lung of a White, 43-year-old, male patient with carcinoma. They are considered to be a model for non-small-cell lung carcinoma research. H1299 cell line provides a valuable in - vitro tool to study this type of cancer. H1299 cells typically display an epithelial-like morphology. They have a polygonal shape with clear cell boundaries. The cytoplasm is relatively abundant, and the nucleus is usually round or oval - shaped, with a prominent nucleolus in many cells.

H1299 cells are used to study the molecular mechanisms of lung cancer, including the roles of oncogenes and tumor suppressor genes, as well as the signal transduction pathways involved in cancer progression. They are widely used in the screening of new anti- cancer drugs. By testing the effects of different drugs on H1299 cells, researchers can evaluate the efficacy and toxicity of these drugs and identify potential candidates for lung cancer treatment.
